BRAND LOVE : MOR

BRAND BACKGROUND
MOR is the inspired expression between Australian designers Dianna Burmas and Deon St.Mor
Motivated by a desire to develop desirable products, the creative energies joined forces to open their first design studio on a cobblestone Melbourne laneway in 1998.Deon and Dianna's mutual passion for travel, fashion, food and the arts was quickly evident in their initial product releases of contemporary lighting, homewares, soft furnishings and experimental categories such as perfumery and aromatherapy.Blending old time ingredients with modern technologies.

Each collection is inspired by the stories of ancient civilisations, by-gone eras, travel, art, cuisine and future technology allowing the creation of a unique story - from the finely blended formulation inside, to the hand finished detail on every product.

From its creative inception, the elegant mix of traditional and modern apothecary might begin with a uniquely blended scent, an ancient ingredient, the art of traditional paper crafting, or the pressed embossing on a tin box creating a keepsake for life - authentic and original and lovingly designed by MOR to take you on an beautiful sensory journey.Following a 11 year creative voyage today MOR combines a holistic design philosophy of presenting luxurious products in covetable packaging, admired the world over by consumers and the beauty industry alike.

JUNE MOMENTS INSTAGRAM

(All images are originals by me -copyright Lucinda Fletcher 2012)

I must confess, I'm been a huge fan of all this Instagram madness. Even  if some of the filters are blurry and grainy laden with gloomy toned filters initially put me off....but now, I gotta admit, I'm a little hooked! You can see my instagrams.

DINOSAUR DESIGNS 2012 COLLECTION

Dinosaur Designs Plum AND Earth Collection 2012

Hunt me down, some bright new-season colour.

To me, Dinosaur Designs is one of Australia’s most enduring jewellery and homewares brands.Since kicking off in 1985 at Sydney’s Paddington Markets –have grown and evolved with the times, all the while staying true to their aesthetic.

Dinosaur Designs welcomes the arrival of the Earth Collection.
Designed and handmade in their Sydney studio, designers Louise Olsen and Stephen Ormandy’s inspiration was sourced from the collection’s namesake.

“We feel there is something in the nature of rock formation that relates very strongly to the human body; we are made from minerals, and we too change over time, the marks of life gradually etched on our bodies.”

The colour palette draws inspiration from the natural hues found in rock formations; grey, ivory and brown with precious metal highlights of silver and bronze. The collection consists of 35 new resin jewellery styles, 20 homewares and 11 silver and brass precious metal pieces.

Plum Collection (Top Picture)
Is such a lovely, exotic collection, filled with bright purple plum pieces that really pop pieces that are aesthetically unique and creatively designed.

MELBOURNE MIXED MEDIA ARTIST : MIRANDA SKOCZEK

  Miranda Skoczek Colourful Creations

I'm quite enamoured with the work of Melbourne artist Miranda Skoczek at the moment. Her mixed media pieces (especially those with a layering of textiles) are exotic and engaging, “exploring themes such as memory, inside/outside, the domestic and self”, while drawing from personal ,cultural experiences, textiles, architecture, and design to name a few.

// Miranda’s work is layered with colour, pattern, imagery and emotions… it speaks from the heart. I'm also loving her accents of so-hot-right-now shades of neon.
